About
The NanoStruct 8U satellite structure features a customizable secondary structure that allows for easier accommodation of odd-shaped payloads and/or other subsystems that would normally exceed the volume constraints of a small CubeSat. This structure provides up to 5U available to payload, empowering users to launch more ambitious applications with confidence and efficiency. It is based on GomSpace’s modular systems, which provide professional 6U and larger platforms for commercial missions with high demands for payload space and orbit control. A custom secondary structure to accommodate an Electric Propulsion system is available upon request. All GomSpace satellite structures are engineered to offer a versatile array of internal and external mechanical interfaces, allowing for seamless integration of diverse components such as payloads, antennas, solar panels, and internal subsystems. This modular approach enhances adaptability across mission profiles and simplifies assembly, maintenance, and future upgrades. The 8U-Platform is a perfect match for missions requiring flexibility, allowing for the addition of mission payloads, mixing with proprietary platform subsystems or those from other vendors, and accommodating odd-shaped and/or larger subsystems with a customizable secondary structure. Applications include education and capacity building, technology demonstration missions, small science missions, and commercial missions.
