Enpulsion’s Nexus propulsion system meets the unique mobility requirements of spacecraft ranging from 150-500kg. It delivers 500 – 4,500s specific impulse with a propellant four times denser than xenon, packing high performance into a compact, efficient design. With approximately 480 ion emission sites and parallel high-voltage supplies, Nexus’s design offers exceptional resilience and system-level robustness. Its modular architecture allows it to scale easily, configurable in clusters of 1 to 4 units to deliver propulsion precisely tailored to mission-specific requirements. Built on the in-orbit success of over 270 flight-proven propulsion systems, Nexus leverages years of insights gained through production experience across diverse mission profiles. Thanks to its design without tanks or fluidic systems, Nexus installs via standard mounting panels and harnessing, connecting within a 15-inch ESPA-class ring. Optimized for power and performance, Nexus increases thrust-to-power efficiency over lower-power systems by intelligently scaling beam output. With no pressurized tanks or stored chemical energy, the system eliminates explosive risk during active operation or in-orbit collisions, enhancing overall spacecraft safety. Indium, a nontoxic, unpressurized metal sourced as a by-product of zinc refining, offers a stable, accessible, and safe propellant option. Powered by Enpulsion’s innovative FEEP technology, the Nexus delivers precise, adjustable thrust by using a powerful electromagnetic field to ionize and accelerate liquified metal propellant. Indium propellant liquifies in orbit to generate finely tunable thrust, delivering efficient, precise maneuverability throughout the entire life of the mission.
