About
Open Cosmos is a UK-based company offering complete end-to-end satellite mission services for customers who want to use space without the complexity of building and operating their own spacecraft. The company handles everything from mission design and satellite manufacturing through launch procurement, mission operations, and data delivery to the customer.
Open Cosmos builds its own satellite platforms (Ossian series, 6U–16U CubeSats) in-house at its Milton Keynes facility and uses them to host customer payloads or deliver complete application-specific missions. The company has delivered missions for ESA, national space agencies, and commercial Earth observation customers.
Key missions include MANTIS (climate monitoring for UK Met Office), Menut (a Catalonian government EO satellite), and missions for the European Space Agency. Open Cosmos also won the UK Space Agency contract to develop two missions to the Moon as part of the UK’s Lunar Pathfinder program.
