About

OreSat is a 2U CubeSat slated for deployment into Low Earth Orbit (LEO) from the International Space Station (ISS) in early spring 2022. It serves as the flagship satellite for the OreSat Project, incorporating two independent missions. The project was accepted into the 2017 NASA CubeSat Launch Initiative (CSLI), providing a free launch opportunity for educational CubeSats. The satellite’s bus is a custom-designed, open-source system specifically tailored for educational applications. It utilizes a card-cage design, enabling student teams to work independently on different subsystem cards. The bus is scalable from 1U to 3U, offering flexibility for various mission sizes. The design emphasizes accessibility and modularity, allowing for easy integration and development of different components like solar panels, batteries, radios, and computers.
