About
Pale Blue PBI is a miniaturized gridded ion thruster that delivers unprecedented total impulse (>7,000 Ns) in a 1U+ form factor. It is a fully integrated system incorporating the thruster head, fluidics, electronics, and propellant tank, and is clusterable to scale to a wide range of spacecraft sizes. The PBI uses water as propellant — no high-pressure storage is required — and the propellant is preloaded at the factory so that satellite integrators do not need to perform propellant loading operations after integration, eliminating launch-site fueling work. Designed for NanoSats and MicroSats, PBI enables high-delta-V missions in a compact, safe package.
