The IHET-300 (Israeli Hall Effect Thruster) is the flight-proven core of Rafael’s first-generation Electric Propulsion System. It operates on Xenon propellant, which is ionized by electrons emitted from the cathode and accelerated as plasma using a high electric field.

Designed for small and microsatellites, the IHET-300 operates nominally at 300W anode power but has a useful range of 250–600W, allowing it to utilize instantaneous available power from the satellite bus. It delivers over 14.3 mN of thrust and a specific impulse exceeding 1,200 s at nominal power.

The IHET-300 gained full flight heritage as the thruster of choice for the Venµs satellite (a CNES–ISA joint scientific/technological mission launched in 2017), where it has successfully operated in orbit demonstrating 100% mission success. The system has accumulated more than 1,000 hours of operation in the endurance test.
