About
Black Kite-1 is an 8U CubeSat satellite platform developed in collaboration with the Taiwan Space Agency (TASA), positioned as a high-performance, high-data-throughput mission. It is scheduled for a Sun-synchronous orbit (SSO) with a target date of November 2025. The platform is designed to serve multiple communication purposes: bi-directional Ku-band communication, a Ka-band inter-satellite link, and LoRa IoT validation. Technically, it features an in-house developed active phased array antenna and uses a regenerative-type communication architecture. It supports a high-speed mode delivering greater than 1 Mbps per user, and a multi-user mode capable of supporting more than 100 simultaneous users.
