About
TARANG is a Software Defined Radio (SDR) based L-Band Multi-Channel Burst Demodulator specifically designed for Mobile Satellite Service (MSS) networks. It is deployed at the hub-side, where it receives signals transmitted from a satellite and demodulates the burst data generated by interoperable Saankhya Labs MSS terminals. The unit is available in a 3RU form factor and supports a scalable configuration from 4 to 48 channels within a single chassis. The 48 channels are organized across 12 different RF cards, with each RF card accommodating 4 channels of burst demodulator. TARANG is designed for easy setup and configuration, ensuring seamless connectivity to Network Management Systems (NMS). Key features include support for up to 48 Channel Burst Demodulator in a 3RU 19” Rack Mountable form factor, serving as Headend/Hub Equipment for MSS Terminals, enabling efficient closed-loop SATCOM communication, and supporting a variety of waveforms through software changes. It also features 12 RF card slots, each supporting 4 channels, a dual redundant power supply for reliability, and a 10/100 T ethernet interface for both control and data interfaces. Applications include hub-side equipment for remote connectivity solutions and Network Management Solution (NMS) Services.
