About
VAMPIRE is the adapter used when a single large satellite takes the main position and smaller passengers ride around it. The published configuration carries a main satellite of about 1500 kg together with up to six auxiliary payloads of roughly 120 kg each, mounted on the adapter’s outer positions.
SAB Launch Services sells both the main position and the auxiliary positions, with the same end-to-end scope as its other offerings: interface control, integration onto the adapter, storage and shipment to the launch site, insurance, launch campaign support and post-launch activities.
An auxiliary position on VAMPIRE is a practical route for a microsatellite operator who needs more mass than an SSMS slot allows.
