About
Vega-C is the upgraded member of the Vega family, with a larger fairing and higher performance than Vega. SAB Launch Services sells capacity on Vega-C missions to owners of small satellites, on the same end-to-end basis as its Vega service: launch procurement, support during development and qualification, integration of the spacecraft onto the launch vehicle structure, storage and shipment to the launch site, insurance, and post-launch support.
Vega-C carries up to about 2300 kg to low Earth orbit and flies the same passenger accommodation family as Vega — the SSMS dispenser for rideshare clusters, VESPA-C for dual passengers above 400 kg, and VAMPIRE for a single large passenger with auxiliary payloads. The larger Vega-C fairing gives dual passengers noticeably more usable volume than Vega.
Missions fly from the Guiana Space Centre in Kourou, French Guiana.
