Scan Mirror Test
The Scan Mirror Test system is used for validating the linearity of the Scan Mirror Mechanism that is deployed on-board satellites.
About
The Scan Mirror Test system is a custom turnkey project in the electro optics domain, designed to validate the linearity of the Scan Mirror Mechanism used on-board satellites. This mechanism sweeps linearly via a mechanical scanning gimbal, enabling the optical sensor to capture large field exposures of the target using a single dimensional array sensor on the satellite. Achieving linear mechanical movement is crucial for the satellite’s imaging linearity, which is accomplished through a complete non-contact electro-optic technique. The test system incorporates a thermovac compatible 22-megapixel camera and a pulsed laser source to monitor the scan mirror’s movement and subsequently compute its linearity. Micro radiant level resolution is attained through advanced pixel-level estimation algorithms.
