About

The SC-OBC MODULE A1 board is optimized for use in CubeSats. Space Cubics uses technology cultivated by JAXA for reliable, safe use on the International Space Station. These boards use a Xilinx Artix-7 FPGA, allowing flexible configuration and multiple interface options. Not limited to CubeSats, the boards can also benefit other spacecraft and even terrestrial applications here on Earth.

During installation in Space Cubics’ own satellite, the SC-OBC Module A1 board was mounted to an interface board with a PC104 form factor. Space Cubics also provides custom circuit board design services to connect the SC-OBC Module A1 to the customer’s satellite.

The module carries an 8-bit PIC MCU for anomaly detection and system recovery, an IP-core watchdog timer, and redundant non-volatile memory: 32 MByte NOR flash x2 (configurable) and 512 KByte FeRAM x2.

The vendor lists a limited-time price of 300,000 JPY excluding tax, available until space-readiness testing is approved, and conditioned on the customer allowing publication of the purchase and of launch results, and on sharing in-orbit functional and performance data (kept confidential).
