Space Union’s Space-Based Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) System provides secure data storage and transmission services leveraging quantum key cryptography delivered via satellite optical laser links. The system distributes quantum cryptographic keys from low Earth orbit using trusted node schemes, enabling theoretically unbreakable encryption for ground-based communications. By routing QKD channels through space, the system achieves global coverage that terrestrial fiber-based QKD networks cannot reach. Target customers include fixed and mobile network operators, government agencies requiring secure communications, defense organizations, and IoT service providers. The service also includes frequency coordination with satellite network administrators for seamless spectrum management. Combined with Space Union’s inter-satellite FSO link infrastructure, this forms a complete space-based quantum-secured communications layer immune to classical computational attacks.
