This Stationary Plasma Thruster (SPT) is designed for critical spacecraft operations, including station keeping and orbit raising to Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO). It was released in 1996 and boasts a guaranteed service life of 20,000 hours and 7,000 cycles. The thruster uses xenon as propellant and consists of both anode and cathode units. It features a classical magnetic system of armored type with magnetic screens. The outside diameter of the accelerating channel is 140 mm, with a mean diameter of 120 mm. The product is flight qualified, with its flight heritage established as part of SS/Loral’s spacecraft. The manufacturer offers the possibility to adapt the product to customer requirements. Estimated production and delivery time is 12 months, not including material procurement (4 months) and procured parts and components (6 months).
