About
This Stationary Plasma Thruster (SPT) is designed for spacecraft station keeping and orbit raising to Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO). Released in 2015, it has a guaranteed service life of 35,000 hours and 7,000 cycles. The thruster uses xenon as propellant and is currently at a laboratory model development status. It consists of anode and cathode units and features a classical magnetic system with magnetic screens. The outside diameter of the accelerating channel is 140 mm, with a mean diameter of 120 mm. The manufacturer states the possibility to adapt the product to customer requirements and highlights the use of new structural materials and components. The estimated production and delivery time is 12 months, not including material procurement (4 months) and procured parts/components (6 months).
