About
Synspective’s Ground Displacement Analytics (GDA) is a commercial analytics service that applies Interferometric SAR (InSAR) techniques to time-series data from the StriX constellation to detect and map millimeter-level ground deformation. InSAR measures changes in the radar phase between satellite passes at sub-centimeter precision — far beyond what optical satellites can achieve.
GDA produces continuous deformation maps for cities, infrastructure corridors, and industrial sites, detecting subsidence caused by groundwater extraction, underground construction, mining, oil/gas production, or natural geological processes. In Japan, where Synspective is headquartered, land subsidence in urban areas is a critical concern: undetected subsidence can damage building foundations, underground utilities, and railway infrastructure before visible damage appears.
The service delivers monthly or quarterly deformation maps covering areas up to 200×200 km, overlaid on street maps with annotated anomaly alerts for areas exceeding user-defined movement thresholds. Customers include Japanese municipal governments, road and railway operators, real estate investment trusts (REITs) for portfolio risk assessment, and construction companies conducting ground improvement verification.
