About
GAMALINK is one of the most advanced and flexible software-defined radios on the market, providing simultaneous support for multiple types of ground and inter-satellite links. It is characterized by high flexibility in frequency allocation, a robust RF protocol, ranging measurements, and correlation mechanisms embedded in the data communications and networking features, allowing for different topologies and data relaying. GAMALINK is a technology enabler for creating a unique communications network incorporating not only the space but also the ground segment. It is an RF communications platform optimized for in-orbit connectivity, supporting point-to-point and multi-node packet-oriented communications. It offers seamless ranging, range rate, and time correlation/synchronization capability together with data exchange, making it a perfect enabler for formation flying, swarm missions, or radio science applications.
GAMALINK is available in two different configurations: a Deep Space version with a robust mechanical housing providing additional radiation shielding, and a New Space version with a more compact and streamlined design, compatible with the CubeSat form factor.
TEKEVER is providing Inter-Satellite Link (ISL) technology for ESA’s Hera mission, supporting robust communications and relative positioning within the mission architecture. Hera launched in October 2024 and has since completed key early mission milestones, including a Mars flyby in March 2025, as it continues its journey to the Didymos system. TEKEVER’s ISL capability helps enable coordinated spacecraft operations and precise measurements, supporting Europe’s planetary defence objectives.
TEKEVER is involved in ESA’s Proba-3 mission, providing an Inter-Satellite Link critical subsystem based on GAMALINK technology to support precision formation flying. Proba-3 launched in December 2024 and entered operational phase during 2025, demonstrating world-first capabilities in precise formation flight and enabling an artificial solar eclipse in orbit to observe the Sun’s corona. TEKEVER’s contribution supports the mission’s formation flying communications and coordination needs, helping unlock a new class of future missions requiring high-precision multi-spacecraft operations.
