The TensorFSS-15M fine sun sensor is a satellite attitude determination system utilizing an advanced photodiode quadrant detector shielded by an aperture mask, ensuring sun incidence measurements up to 0.1-degree accuracy. It features an embedded error correction table, derived from thorough in-house calibration, to deliver top-class performance. The sensor consumes 5.5 mA at 16 Hz and is compliant with GEVS and ECSS testing standards, combining reliability and efficiency. Key features include a 2-axis digital fine sun sensor, 0.2 deg (1-sigma) sun determination accuracy (or < 0.1 deg upon request), lower power consumption, a robust and autonomous recovery mechanism, and an RS485 interface. The TensorFSS-15M also offers configurable magnetometer functionality, which can be enabled or disabled based on mission requirements. When enabled, the magnetometer enhances measurement accuracy and reliability by providing additional magnetic field data to complement sun vector readings. This dual-source sensing improves attitude determination, especially in scenarios with limited sun visibility or environmental uncertainties. For accurate magnetometer performance, the unit should be installed at least 10 cm away from potential magnetic interference sources like Control Moment Gyroscopes (CMGs), motors, or high-current wiring. Enabling the magnetometer transforms the TensorFSS-15M into a more versatile and robust sensor, supporting higher-precision orientation awareness for satellite missions.
