About
Thorium Space has developed a family of flat phased array satellite terminals featuring electronically steered beams for operation in the Ku and Ka frequency bands. The product line includes the Aurora (Ka-band) and Ares (Ku-band) terminals, designed for both stationary (SOTP) and mobile (SOTM) satellite connectivity. The terminals are built on a proprietary flat antenna architecture enabling wide-angle electronic beam steering without any mechanical moving parts.
The Aurora Pro terminal operates in Ka band and supports generation of two independent transmit and receive beams simultaneously, providing flexibility for multi-satellite or multi-beam operation. The Ares terminal mirrors this capability in Ku band. Both platforms integrate an embedded modem with Ethernet interface, along with GNSS and IMU modules enabling fully autonomous satellite tracking.
The antenna module family includes TX and RX Ka AESA Pro modules (16×16 radiators, 27.5–31 GHz and 17.7–21.2 GHz respectively) and TX and RX Ku AESA modules (16×16 radiators), all at TRL IV. Earlier 8×8 radiator Ka AESA modules reached TRL V before being discontinued. The terminals are fully designed in Poland using commercially available electronic components.
The Hydra terminal serves as a technology demonstrator for Ka-band flat panel terminals. All active products support both SOTP (stationary) and SOTM (mobile-on-the-move) operation modes.
