About
The NPT30-I2 is ThrustMe’s iodine-propellant Hall-effect thruster, the world’s first flight-qualified iodine propulsion system. It stores propellant as solid iodine at ambient pressure, eliminating the need for pressurized xenon tanks and simplifying satellite integration and regulatory compliance. The thruster achieves 1.2 mN thrust at 590–1,500 s specific impulse with 30 W power. Flight-proven on multiple satellite missions including Spacety’s Tianqi-14 (Dec 2020, first in-orbit demonstration), the NPT30-I2 has demonstrated high repeatability and long duration operation on orbit. Mass is under 1.5 kg total wet.
