UAV Planner

UAV Planner is an advanced planning and scheduling application that provides automated route planning and sensor tasking for unmanned aerial vehicles. It allows operators, designers, and engineers to model their UAV systems and perform operational scheduling and analysis using COTS software, and is built on Orbit Logic’s proven satellite collection planning software. Capabilities include automated flight and route planning, restricted-area and terrain constraints, configurable aircraft and sensors, multi-vehicle collaboration, image collection planning, interactive 3D map visualization and animation, order management and fulfillment tracking, and in-flight re-tasking.

UAV Planner automatically plans the flight path and collection schedule for an aircraft sortie within its capabilities to maximize the value of collected imagery, with multiple algorithms competing to optimize each sortie plan. Operators can also prioritize or defer targets, manually create or edit plans, and rely on constraint models that flag violations and automatically adjust plans to fix them. For multi-vehicle operations, UAV Planner maintains an integrated order database with inter-sortie collaborative order-fulfillment tracking and a fleet view for multi-aircraft, multi-sortie animation in Google Earth or STK. In-flight re-tasking allows a re-plan to start from the aircraft’s current position, with algorithms optimizing the plan using the dynamically changing order database and restricted areas.
