Viasat Multi-Mission Terminal (MMT)

The Viasat Multi-Mission Terminal (MMT) provides rapidly deployable, multi-band, and multi-orbital broadband for IP communications globally, designed for seamless adaptation to various network topologies.

About

The Viasat Multi-Mission Terminal (MMT) is a rapidly deployable ground terminal offering broadband IP communications across the globe. Its multi-band and multi-orbital capabilities allow it to seamlessly adapt to diverse network topologies and architectures, including mesh, hub/spoke, and point-to-point configurations. Users can achieve simple and accurate portable SATCOM antenna pointing using the Viasat CAMP smartphone app. Key features include high-capacity satellite service delivery to the portable, flyaway terminal, and the ability to roam across satellite networks for anti-access/area-denied (A2AD) resiliency. The MMT delivers IP-based voice, video, and data networking, and can be set up and pointed in 30 minutes or less. With a simple feed-arm swap, it operates over commercial Ku-, WGS Ka-, ViaSat-1 and ViaSat-2 Ka-, and commercially available X-band constellations. The MMT is designed to be flexible and easily upgradeable for future mission requirements, making it ideal for Forward Operating Bases and emergency response operations. It provides operators with a unique combination of multi-level transport diversity and access to Viasat’s high-capacity satellite constellations, ensuring secure and resilient communications in both benign and contested environments. Viasat also offers a government-focused ground terminal modification program, enabling third-party terminals to access Viasat’s high-capacity SATCOM networks, allowing U.S. DoD and coalition forces to utilize their existing ground SATCOM terminals to roam among commercial and defense satellite networks, thereby gaining access to a hybrid, multi-network SATCOM architecture.
