About

CAVACam is a customisable camera system designed for ultra-clean vacuum environments, capturing high-quality images inside UHV, XHV, and ultra-clean vacuum (UCV) chambers for research, testing, and industrial applications. Its construction emphasises low outgassing to minimise contamination risks, and the modular architecture supports multiple CCD and EMCCD detector options.

Two primary configuration variants are available: F-model cameras mount directly to conflat flanges with vacuum-clean components inside the chamber, while S-model cameras feature hermetically sealed, fully immersible heads with fibre-optic data transfer that allow full immersion in the vacuum environment. Detectors are replaceable, permitting upgrades without replacing the entire camera system.

The design enables cryogenic Peltier cooling to -50 deg C and simultaneous operation of multiple camera heads for multi-perspective data acquisition. Both front-illuminated and back-illuminated detector formats are available, and optional residual gas analysis (RGA) scan capability can be integrated.
