About
The PFO 1040 is a real-time particle fallout monitor designed for cleanrooms and controlled environments. It employs XCAM Scientific’s proprietary Direct Particle Detection (DPD) technology, which uses high-performance silicon imaging sensors to directly observe particles settling on the sensor surface rather than relying on airborne particle counting.
Advanced onboard recognition algorithms detect particle size, profile, and count by size class, measure percentage area covered (PAC), and differentiate between fibres and non-fibrous particles. The system utilises all four sensors simultaneously to maximise sample area and statistical significance, enabling continuous contamination trend tracking and immediate detection of contamination events.
With a detection range spanning 5 um to beyond 750 um and a sample rate of 10 per hour, the PFO 1040 targets larger settling particles that airborne sensors miss. Alarm thresholds are configurable for percentage area covered and cleanroom cleanliness level.
