Deployment model
Containerized customer software payloads

About

Compute as a Service provides orbital edge computing, allowing customers to deploy software-defined payloads on Xplore’s satellites to process data in space rather than downlinking raw data for ground-based processing. The platform runs a custom on-board computing environment based on a Linux/ARM architecture, supporting customer software in containers.

Use cases include data fusion, object identification, AIS (Automatic Identification System) analysis, anomaly detection, cloud detection, data compression/reduction/encryption, and custom AI/ML applications. By processing data on-orbit and downlinking insights rather than raw imagery, Xplore says the approach reduces latency and increases the effective volume of usable insights collected per pass.
