About
The CubeSat 12U Lunar is a deep-space small satellite developed by Yuzhnoye SDO designed to accomplish a solo flight to circumlunar orbit from geostationary transfer orbit (GTO), accommodate up to 4U of scientific payload for lunar science tasks, or serve as an orbital transport module to deliver payload to circumlunar orbit or interplanetary trajectories. Weighing no more than 20 kg, it features iodine-based electric propulsion with two thrusters producing 1.24 x 10^-3 N each with a total impulse of 3.7 x 10^4 N·s per engine, providing the delta-V budget required for the GTO-to-circumlunar-orbit transfer. The satellite generates 80 to 200 W average electrical power (up to 230 W peak). Attitude accuracy is 0.5 degree with 0.005 degrees per second stabilization. The 3-year active lifetime supports extended lunar science campaigns.
