About

The Light-Class Lunar Lander is a conceptual lunar surface delivery vehicle developed by Yuzhnoye SDO, capable of delivering a 50 kg scientific or technology payload to the lunar surface. Powered by the RD840 engine burning storable nitrogen tetroxide and UDMH propellants, it is designed for a surface operational duration of 14 or more days. The lander is deployed from a lunar orbit via a descent stage, enabling placement of small scientific instruments, technology demonstrators, or precursor hardware at selected lunar sites in support of future crewed exploration missions. The lightweight design and use of storable propellants simplify ground handling and integration with launch vehicles ranging from medium-class upward.
