About
The Medium-Class Lunar Lander is a larger lunar surface delivery vehicle developed by Yuzhnoye SDO designed for delivering medium-mass payloads to the lunar surface, powered by the RD860M three-assembly throttleable engine system. Available in expendable or reusable variants, the reusable version can return to lunar orbit for potential refueling or continuation of operations after surface deployments. The lander supports at least 14 days of surface operations, sufficient for deployment and initial operation of science instrument packages, in-situ resource utilization experiments, or preparation of sites for future human exploration missions. The RD860M propulsion system, with its three-assembly cluster configuration providing both main thrust and directional control, enables precise throttleable descent and soft landing on uneven lunar terrain.
