About
Sich-2-30 (also designated Sich-2-1) is a Ukrainian Earth observation satellite developed by Yuzhnoye Design Bureau (Dnipro), continuing the Sich remote-sensing series. The spacecraft carries an optical imaging payload for Earth remote sensing in support of agriculture, land use, water resources and disaster monitoring, along with an ionospheric monitoring instrument. It was launched in January 2022 aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rideshare (Transporter-3). Yuzhnoye provides full-cycle engineering of rocket and space technology – launch vehicles of the Zenit and Cyclone families, liquid rocket engines, spacecraft and advanced R&D – with the state enterprise’s design heritage spanning six decades of the Ukrainian space programme.
