The Sich-3-O is a high-resolution optical Earth observation satellite developed by Yuzhnoye SDO that will obtain super-resolution digital panchromatic and multispectral visible images of the Earth’s surface. Operating in a sun-synchronous orbit at approximately 500 km altitude, the satellite weighs approximately 290 kg and features a three-axis active attitude control system with plus or minus 45 degrees off-axis maneuver capability, enabling imaging of targets well beyond the nadir track. An ammonia propulsion system enables orbital correction maneuvers to maintain the desired orbit parameters. The high-resolution imaging payload achieves 0.5 m panchromatic and 2 m multispectral resolution in R, G, B, and NIR bands. The satellite supports multiple imaging modes including strip, area, spotlight, and stereo imaging across a 7-year operational life.
