EMXYS Ground Station
The EMXYS Ground Station is a 19-inch rack-mounted terrestrial radio station for satellite communications, featuring an embedded computer, SDR, and optional rotor for satellite tracking.
Description
The EMXYS Ground Station (EGS) is a terrestrial radio station designed for satellite communications. It features a main transceiver based on an embedded computer connected to a software-defined radio (SDR) device, covering most satellite bands including UHF, VHF, and S bands. The EGS is presented in a 19-inch rack standard enclosure and is controlled from a standard computer capable of performing baseband signal processing. By default, it is designed to work with the spid BIG-RAS-HR rotor for antenna positioning, which is controlled from a module within the rack using open-source GPredict software for automatic azimuth and elevation angle control. The rotor is included, but the EGS module can be purchased without it. The system includes open-source COSMOS software for telemetry and telecommand and GPredict for satellite tracking and rotor control. It implements a local network for data transmission/reception and RF sample reception, with a connection system via TCP/IP protocol with an Ethernet gigabit switch. Users can define data link packaging (AX25/HDLC by default) and modulations (FSK, BPSK by default), and add other blocks like scrambling and user Python code. It also features Doppler effect control, AC overcurrent and leakage current protection, and half-duplex communication.
