ODALCOM Optical Transceiver

The Emxys ODALCOM is a small, compact optical communications unit designed for high data rate satellite-to-ground and inter-satellite links in the infrared C-band. Specifically engineered for smallsat platforms hosting data-intensive payloads, ODALCOM provides a dramatically higher downlink bandwidth than conventional RF transceivers, enabling more science data to be returned per orbit.

The transceiver is designed to integrate seamlessly with the ODALISS platform’s multi-protocol bus, but can also be integrated as a standalone payload or subsystem on other nanosatellite and microsatellite buses. The compact form factor fits within the tight volume constraints of CubeSat designs while delivering the optical aperture needed for practical link margins to ground stations at typical LEO altitudes.
