Description
The ABSL CM1040 in 36s4p topology is a Li-ion space battery built on the ABSL P20 cell.
Fully qualified for space applications, this battery has been utilised on various launch vehicles, including for Thrust Vector Control (TVC). The design incorporates two keyed circular connectors, with one being used to connect to system power, and does not require cell balancing electronics, making it easy to store, use and integrate into the spacecraft.
EnerSys ABSL products have been successfully powering spacecraft since 2000: the longest operating rechargeable Li-ion battery in space, the first to orbit Earth, Mars and Venus, the closest to orbit the sun, and the batteries trusted to power the James Webb Telescope.
