NewSpace India Limited (NSIL)

NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) is a Schedule 'A' Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Department of Space, Government of India, established in 2019 and headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Functioning as the primary commercial arm of ISRO, NSIL is tasked with scaling India's space industrial capacity by enabling private sector participation in space activities.

NSIL manages the production of PSLV, Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV), and other ISRO launch vehicles through industrial consortia, provides launch services to international commercial customers, leases satellite transponder capacity, and facilitates satellite manufacturing and technology transfer to private Indian industry. The company has facilitated the launch of 297 customer satellites from 33 countries using PSLV missions. Recent launches include the LVM3-M6/BlueBird Block-2 mission (December 2025) and LEOP support for Galaxeye Space's Drishti satellite.

NSIL represents a key mechanism for India's transition toward a commercially driven space economy, enabling domestic private companies to develop launch vehicles and satellites while broadening international access to India's proven launch infrastructure.
