About Reflex Aerospace

Reflex Aerospace GmbH was founded in May 2021 in Munich, Germany by Walter Ballheimer, Christian Lindener, and Alexander Genzel, on the premise that NewSpace manufacturing methods had not kept pace with the performance and reliability of classic space programs. The company opened its Berlin design office in the Friedrichshain district later that year and has since grown to more than 110 employees across 25 nationalities.

Reflex builds custom, payload-agnostic satellite platforms in the 75-500 kg class for low Earth orbit, marketed under the OmniFlex product family (baseline OmniFlex, high-precision OmniFlex HiPr, high-resolution EO OmniFlex UltraSharp, multi-payload OmniFlex DataSphere, and SAR-focused OmniFlex TSAR). The company calls its approach "NextSpace": combining the customizability of traditional space programs with NewSpace-style rapid manufacturing, generative design and additive manufacturing, targeting contract-to-delivery timelines of around 12 months. All components are sourced ITAR-free to reduce export-control overhead.

Manufacturing is centered on a verticalized "MicroFactory" model: a Berlin design center (electronics lab, mechanics workshop, MGSE/EGSE ground support equipment) handles prototyping and design, while a Munich MicroFactory (completed December 2024, ISO 7 clean room, cell-manufacturing concept) handles assembly, integration and test with an initial capacity of 12 satellites per year, planned to expand to 80+ satellites per year.

Reflex achieved flight heritage in January 2025 when its SIGI satellite launched on SpaceX Transporter-12, and has since signed commercial contracts including MIRI for Marble Imaging (a 200-satellite Earth observation constellation), OPTIMAS for Navantia/the European Defence Fund (laser communications), and Twinspector for LiveEO (stereo Earth observation for critical-infrastructure monitoring). The company closed a seed round of roughly EUR 9M in April 2023 and a record EUR 50M Series A in November 2025, reported as the largest Series A in the European NewSpace sector to date.
