It operates in a 510 km Sun Synchronous Orbit with approximately 97.4° inclination and a Local Time of Ascending Node (LTAN) of 22:30. The planned mission duration is one year. The satellite features a 900 W peak power system, 500 Wh usable battery capacity, and 330 W solar array nominal power generation. For communication, it uses S-band for Telemetry, Tracking, and Command (TMTC) with a 1 Mbit/s uplink and 128 kbit/s downlink, and X-band for data transmission up to 80 Mbit/s. SIGI was launched on January 14, 2025, aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket as part of the Transporter-12 mission.
