The spectrometer operates in the near-infrared band, with a standard range of 1000 nm to 1700 nm, and an extended range version capable of operating up to 2400 nm. It utilizes an actively cooled InGaAs detector array comprising approximately 100 illuminated elements. The ruggedized units have been flown in space and possess a mass of less than 230g.
