About
Earthfence GEO is the world’s first commercial Deep Space Radar (DSR), a fully digital, software-defined, pulse-compression radar system built by Thoth Technology for Space Domain Awareness (SDA). It actively tracks meter-scale objects in geostationary (GEO) orbits out to 50,000 km and beyond into cislunar/XGEO space, detecting and ranging both known geostationary assets and unknown targets such as orbital debris. Target detection is validated using radar cross-section, spacecraft dimension, and antenna configuration analysis, and the system continuously tracks targets over hours or days to build high-resolution orbits and range rates. Ranging data accuracy exceeds 25 m, sufficient for spacecraft navigation, surveillance of space, space traffic management, and collision avoidance. Data is delivered as a service from Thoth’s sensor provider at the Algonquin Radio Observatory in Canada, with plans to expand to a global GEO radar ranging network.
