About
The Akash CubeSat Radio is a high-throughput satellite communication radio leveraging Akash Systems’ proprietary Diamond Cooling® technology. It fits the standard 10 × 10 cm CubeSat footprint at just 3 cm tall and consumes under 28 W. The radio supports flexible modulation coding and achieves 700 Mbps downlink (extendable to 1.4 Gbps), representing a 3–5× improvement over competing CubeSat radios of similar size.
Diamond Cooling® enables higher RF power output without the thermal runaway risks faced by GaN-on-SiC alternatives, making the radio well-suited for high-cadence Earth-observation and broadband LEO missions.
