About
Alba Orbital is a Scottish company specializing in the ultra-miniature PocketQube satellite standard — a 5 cm × 5 cm × 5 cm satellite form factor, roughly equivalent to 1/8th the volume of a 1U CubeSat. Alba Orbital develops its own PocketQube satellites and operates a PocketQube deployment service, enabling universities, researchers, and commercial customers to access LEO at extremely low cost.
The PocketQube Deployer is Alba Orbital’s rideshare deployment hardware and service, which accommodates multiple PocketQube satellites in a single stack for launch as a rideshare payload on vehicles such as SpaceX Transporter missions. Alba Orbital handles all aspects of the deployment mission from customer satellite delivery through in-orbit deployment, licensing, and spectrum coordination.
Alba Orbital has deployed PocketQube satellites through its GENESIS missions and has built partnerships with launch providers for regular rideshare slots. The company also manufactures its own PocketQube platforms (Unicorn series) and ground station hardware, positioning it as a full-service ecosystem provider for the ultra-small satellite market.
