AURORA-1 is a liquid-fuelled rocket engine with an aerospike nozzle developed by Pangea Aerospace of Spain. The aerospike design maintains high efficiency across a wide range of altitudes (sea level to vacuum) without a conventional bell nozzle, making it ideal for reusable launch vehicles. Pangea Aerospace has successfully demonstrated and hot-fired the AURORA-1 engine, representing a significant technical milestone for European commercial propulsion development. The engine will power the company’s planned Meso orbital vehicle.
