About
The Dcubed Rigid-Deployable Solar Array is a conventional hinged-panel deployable array designed for CubeSats and smallsats in the 6U to 100 kg class. The array consists of one or more rigid solar panels connected by spring-loaded hinges, held in stowed position by Dcubed Release Nuts during launch.
Upon command, the Release Nuts actuate and the spring-loaded hinges deploy the panels to their fully extended position, where they are latched. The entire deployment takes less than 5 seconds.
The array is available in standard configurations generating 30W to 120W, using triple-junction GaAs solar cells with coverglass. Custom electrical routing and connector options are available.
The Rigid-Deployable Solar Array ships as a complete, integrated assembly (panels, hinges, HDRMs) ready for spacecraft integration, reducing the customer’s assembly burden.
