Dcubed’s Flexible Blanket Solar Array is built using a modular approach, resulting in a highly compact design, approximately half the volume of a standard deployable solar array. It also achieves a significant weight reduction of two-thirds compared to conventional arrays, while maintaining extreme durability. This design allows for maximum power generation for a given mass and volume, simultaneously reducing costs by an order of magnitude and lead times by several months. Key features include the ability to maximize deployed surface area with compact stowage for launch, an End-of-Life (EOL) power output of up to 2kW, minimal stowed volume, and a maximum power-to-mass ratio. The product is described as ‘In-Space Manufactured’ and is offered as a turn-key subsystem, including the substrate, solar cells, and Hold Down and Release Mechanisms (HDRMs). The Dcubed Flexible Blanket Solar Array is ITAR Free.
