About
EBAD Flight Termination Systems (FTS) provide range safety assurance for launch vehicles and missiles by delivering redundant explosive assemblies capable of terminating flight when a vehicle deviates from its prescribed trajectory. EBAD serves as a complete FTS systems integrator, combining its own initiation devices — including Electrostatic Safe & Arm Devices (ESADs) and electromechanical safe-and-arm units — with Flexible Confined Detonating Cord Assemblies (FCDCAs) for signal transfer and an output charge selection including Bulk Destruct Charges, Linear Shape Charge Assemblies (LSCAs), Bi-Directional Destruct Charges, and Conical Destruct Charges. FTS configurations are designed to sever structures, create aerodynamic instability, destroy propulsion motors, or disable other major vehicle elements as required by the range safety officer. EBAD has a demonstrated track record across tactical missiles, hypersonic vehicles, and strategic nuclear missile systems, with relationships covering all major test ranges and range safety organizations (RSOs) providing high TRL and low programmatic risk.
