About

The GaAs Solar Panel with Coils (side) is a compact solar cell board using gallium arsenide (GaAs) photo-electric converters for high conversion efficiency (28%), designed as an electrical power source for CubeSat satellites. A built-in planar electromagnetic coil can be used by the satellite’s orientation and stabilization system. The panel is compatible with both SPUTNIX and ISIS CubeSat structures and features a super-diode protection circuit; multiple panels can be combined to scale both power and coil magnetic moment. A calibration report is provided for each item. First released in 2017 and flight-qualified in the SiriusSat-1 and SiriusSat-2 satellites launched 15 August 2018.
