Indra Space designs, develops, and operates ground segment systems to ensure control, security, and efficiency for over 30 Earth Observation missions globally, including ESA’s Earth Explorers and Copernicus missions. Their offerings include ground stations and Telemetry, Tracking, and Control (TT&C) systems that provide continuous satellite connectivity through X-band downlink for image transmission, S-band link for telemetry and telecommand, and an Ethernet architecture for seamless integration. These solutions are robust, modular, and designed for reliable operations in any environment, ensuring maximum availability and precision. The control and data processing centers are the operational core, managing satellite orbit and attitude, planning observation tasks, and processing acquired data. The gs4EO suite, a key component, consists of multi-mission, interoperable, and independent modules aimed at maximizing mission return while reducing risks and costs. Its flexible, open architecture supports autonomous and secure operations with minimal staffing, remote access, virtualized deployment, continuous 24/7 operation with redundancy and fault tolerance, asset reuse, and compatibility with international standards. The modular design allows for customized configurations, from complete ground segments to direct reception stations or specific subsystems, supporting multiple missions. Indra Space also provides tools and subsystems to optimize operations, reduce deployment costs, and ensure full mission lifecycle control, including Operational Data Processors (ODP), end-to-end simulators, Payload Data Ground Segments (PDGS), Flight Operations Segments (FOS), and EO data applications and services. The Puertollano Antenna Park, located in southwest Europe, is a key part of their infrastructure, hosting proprietary and hosted stations with high-performance connectivity for Earth observation missions. It operates four antennas from different networks, including a 10.2-meter S and X-band antenna capable of communicating with LEO and higher orbit satellites, which is noted as the only commercially available antenna of this size on the Iberian Peninsula. Its strategic position offers optimal visibility over Europe and North Africa, enabling near real-time data download of regional targets, memory clearance prior to imaging passes, and complementary coverage to polar stations in Nordic countries, ensuring uninterrupted communication windows and dependable, low-latency data access.
