About

The IMT µSADA is a miniaturized Solar Array Drive Assembly developed under ESA contract for 6U and 12U CubeSat platforms. Features six solar panels arranged in two wings of three panels each for sun-tracking power generation. Mechanically compatible with ISIS and GomSpace 6U/12U structures. The drive unit (SADU) has a mass of 250 g and dimensions of 88x101x15 mm; each solar wing (SAWA) weighs 1,190 g deployed at 710x324x11 mm. Power input is 5V for the main unit, with an average consumption of 500 mW. The solar wing delivers 118W BOL power at 31-54V bus voltage (typically 42V), drawing 2.6-3.0A. Triple-junction InGaP/GaAs/Ge cells with 100-micron coverglass. Pointing accuracy is ±0.3 deg with CAN bus interface and I2C redundant. Qualified to 38,060 deployment sweeps and >15 kRad radiation tolerance.
