Oxford Space Systems is developing innovative deployable antennas and structures that meet the challenges of the new space age. Our approach blends agile development with robust validation and we use proprietary materials in innovative ways to deliver mature solutions that are fast paced and cost effective. Many of our technology developments are driven directly by customers, with our innovations able to deliver direct benefits to their new satellite services. Our product portfolio is also evolving to suit emerging market needs and we use proven scalable technologies across the range to provide robust, reliable and highly capable antenna solutions. This includes a Compact Parabolic antenna, where Oxford Space Systems evaluated the adaptation and transfer of their space technology to terrestrial deployable antenna applications, conducting a feasibility study into the scalability of the Hinged Rib antenna to a 1.5m diameter parabolic antenna for lightweight, stowage efficient, and fast deploying ground operations. Additionally, Hold Down and Release Mechanisms (HDRMs) designed by Oxford Space Systems were successfully launched on OHB LuxSpace’s microsatellite ESAIL, built under an ESA Partnership Project, gaining heritage for this unique piece of innovative space hardware.
