FleetBroadband — Inmarsat L-Band Maritime Terminals
Inmarsat ELERA L-band FleetBroadband terminals (Fleet One / FB250 / FB500) with PoE, Wi-Fi, and soft PABX for voice and data at sea.
About
Intellian’s FleetBroadband Series provides L-band maritime satellite communication terminals for Inmarsat’s ELERA network — the world’s first globally distributed high-power L-band network, providing coverage to 99.9% of the world’s oceans. Three models serve different vessel types and fleet configurations.
The Fleet One is an entry-level terminal for small and fishing vessels, delivering essential voice, SMS, and data services on the ELERA network. The FB250 operates as a standalone L-band terminal or as the L-band companion component in an Inmarsat Fleet Xpress dual-band installation. The FB500 is specifically designed for Fleet Xpress dual-mode operation, paired with an Intellian GX Ka-band terminal to deliver automatic fallback from Ka to L-band during outages or in low-elevation areas.
All three terminals incorporate modern modem technology with PoE Ethernet ports for VoIP phones, IEEE 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi for wireless LAN access onboard, a soft PABX supporting up to 16 voice devices, and built-in firewall with MAC address filtering. The single coax cable installation design minimizes above-deck hardware and reduces installation time.
Managed via Intellian’s AptusLX software and covered by a 3-year parts / 2-year labor warranty, the FleetBroadband Series provides a reliable, compliant L-band maritime communication layer that serves as both a primary connection for smaller vessels and a resilient fallback for larger vessels with VSAT primary connectivity.
