GX Series — Inmarsat Fleet Xpress Maritime Terminals

Intellian’s GX Series provides maritime terminals for Inmarsat’s Fleet Xpress (FX) Ka-band satellite service — the leading maritime VSAT network for commercial shipping and offshore energy. The GX60NX 2 and GX100NX 2 feature a 9W Ka-band transceiver with dual polarization and 2.5GHz wideband Ka support, enabling access to Inmarsat’s highest bandwidth service tiers.

The 1U rack-mounted below-deck unit integrates an embedded dual-antenna mediator, auto cable compensation for antenna cable lengths up to 150m, one-touch commissioning, and the AptusNX management software for remote fleet monitoring. A single coax cable connects above-deck to below-deck, maintaining installation simplicity even with the GX system’s high-performance capability.

High-power (HP) variants of both models are available for operators requiring increased transmit power for marginal satellite coverage areas or higher-throughput service tiers. The GX Series integrates with complementary FleetBroadband L-band terminals (Fleet One, FB250, FB500) as part of a hybrid connectivity solution, ensuring service continuity via L-band voice and data when Ka-band is temporarily unavailable due to rain fade or congestion.

With Fleet Xpress’s global Ku-band backup layer and L-band fallback, the GX Series provides true multi-layer maritime connectivity resilience for mission-critical vessel operations.
